For the last year, living in environs free of t.v., internet, cell phones and other forms of intrusive tech has helped considerably with getting in sync with the more subtle of phenomena that play out here in the desert. The absence of noise, air, EM and other forms of pollution also has assisted in enlivening my senses, thus enabling me to witness otherwise fleeting phenomena such as fluorescence. It has also helped me gain an awareness of natural rhythms and cycles. With senses fully enlivened in such a high signal to low noise ratio setting, an awareness of being connected enables one to trust their perceptions more and more so. What has been the most healing of all has been an awareness of rhythms, circadian and otherwise.
The most effective way of getting in touch with such rhythms has been to go to bed when the sun disappears over the mountains and rising at the slightest hint of dawn or even before. I often awaken around 3:00 am and cue in visually on the constellations and have learned to tell time by the positions of Orion and the Big Dipper which I use as my 'watch hands'.
By far the most dramatic of experiences has been 'sun gazing' which a guy from Las Vegas I met at the hot springs on the winter solstice told me about. So I tried it shortly afterwards one morning after a mineral soak, taking note of the exact time the sun peeked over the peaks (7:13 am). The morning of 12-27 was the clearest in regards to there being no dust, clouds or chem trails to interfere with optical phenomena. When the sun finally broke forth, its multi-colored rays instantly flowered, some traveling back and forth over the mountain tops in a radiant dance. Then wavy energy i.e. interference patterns appeared below the sun, back dropped by the mountain's shadow and danced around as well. It was pure rhythmic delight taking it all in, but I made sure to look away not long after, so as not to damage my eyes. The sun then began to pulse and as I witnessed this light dance, an unexpected rush of energy came through my body which was harmonizing cellularly with the pulsing light. Then, in my head, I heard some music I had written, inspired by the hot springs and mountains, during a full moon in January of 2017, parts of which are done in the same pulse/rhythm as the rising sun and the hot springs, just ringing out with an unimpeded resonance that I could feel most in my heart. The experience moved me to tears, that I was able to capture such an elusive beauty playing out before me and on such an eloquent scale and to be able to give it expression through my guitar and vocal compositions, intuitively transcribing this phenomena.
One morning I did some solar gazing after a hot springs soak and even more detail came through, i.e. the energy patterns coming off of the sun. What was most remarkable was having an awareness of the air becoming magnetically charged just prior to the sun rising. I thought it was electrified but what happened next convinced me that the air was becoming magnetized. I could feel it within my cellular body as well. I then saw/felt the magnetic field lines, then the circulating energy on the rim of the sun back and forth, then waving-like it was doing quantum particle/wave dance. After this experience I started telling people that in order to understand quantum physics that they should try sun gazing.
In regards to the hot springs, it has taken several soaks to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of how the unadulterated water that percolates from a magma chamber approximately 10k below has an actual sentience all its own. A sentience with rhythmic peculiarities. The water, when it emerges from the vents, actually knows you and responds to what state you are in, tense or relaxed, positive or negative. This is water with its original molecular integrity intact, having not traveled through pipes of any kind or water heaters or treatment plants. Just the mantle of the earth where it then becomes so therapeutically mineralized during its upward stream, if not from the millions of prior years of circulation so far below. Not only is the radiate heat apparent, if one really tunes in, there is a discernible rhythm and timing to the radiations flowing out of the spring's vents as well, like the magma that heats the water has a memory of where it has come from and encodes it in the water. Most curious of all is that it varies from day to day, like a strong/weak charge . Just as the vibrations of the mountain peaks do via polarity flipping made visible by the rising sun over the peaks.
My regular soaks have been a source of much healing for me and in so many ways both physically and psychologically. Balneotherapy has been prescribed by doctors who recommend month long, daily soaking. I started to notice an improvement in my well being, especially with the absence of depression and increase in vitality.
One morning, while soaking around 5:00 am, I could discern a couple of figures in the darkness coming in on the trail from the road. They were using no flashlight and it was moonless and dark. They took what looked like robes off over their heads, back-dropped only by the brilliant, star lit sky. When they got in, an energy wave flashed through me making the water go blue luminous.
“Nirvana.” I thought and laughed.
Then a bit later, I could see one of the monks putting his robe back on shore. He then bent over, lit a cigarette and puffed it orange. As he did this, a shooting star arced over us all and in the terminus flare, I could see the trail of after burn smoke for maybe a half of a second if even that.
Auspicious indeed, in the rhythmic scheme of things.
