Roadrunner looks dapper, had to look them up. Can fly short distance, also will take hummingbirds from the ground jumping. Have Rufous and Anna's at my feeder, but the migration is way down, like last year.
Quite a synchronicity in that I was telling someone about the roadrunner siting and the first thing they said is that they saw one jumping up and getting a hummingbird.
I used to have a pair of road runners that showed up in my hardscrabble yard to drink from a bird bath. One day I turned the hose on and made a spray and they loved it. Ran back and forth in the spray and jumped around like children playing in the sprinkler. We did it most days after that. Birds.

Nice story about the road runner. Yesterday I went into the backyard to eat and sat down in a swing and there was a bit of a rustle in the bushes behind me and a squirrel came under the swing and just sat and stayed in one spot right to the right of the swing. I actually put out my hand and stroked it a few times and it just stayed there. I thought that maybe it was partially paralyzed. Later my roommate came out and petted a few times and it jumped 2 feet in the air and hopped away. Some divination traditions predate Christianity and even if they didn’t, I’m not exactly sure why they would be contraindicated, otherwise than the old testament which has a jealous god named Yahweh bossing everybody around.
Your first piece about the cloud demons was entertaining although just the night before I had sent some friends of mine your piece exposing Epstein, so I kind of hope they didn’t go digging through your recent output because that one’s pretty out there.
